The SDGs and Futures Talk

The Graduate School of Public and Development Management, as part of its tri-fold function of instruction, research, and extension, under its Research Programs for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Futures Thinking (FT), brings a fusion towards the achievement of sustainable development and the paving of pathways towards the preferred futures scenario through the SDGs and Futures Talks Series. The Future Talks is a discussion platform aimed at penetrating spheres of discussion in order to influence policy and effectuate public sector development through the cascading of the Graduate School’s research findings in a conversational and levelled tone. Currently, the Futures Talk is an ongoing series composed of the following episodes:

Episode 1: Enhancing Advocacy for National-Local Governance of Sustainable Consumption and Production (SDG 12.5)

Hosted by the Dean of the Graduate School  of Public and Development Management, Dr. Lizan E. Perante-Calina, featuring DAP Research Fellows Dr. Jalton G. Taguibao, Dr. Maria Lourdes G. Rebullida, and Dr. Eduardo T. Gonzalez

The SDG & Futures Talk pilot episode with Dr. Malou Rebullida, Dr. Eduardo Gonalez, and Dr. Jalton Taguibao explored sustainable development and management of natural resources to meet present and future needs. The discussion focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of 2016-2030, with a specific focus on SDG 12, which addresses sustainable consumption and production. The authors post their own policy recommendations pertinent to continually improving pollution and waste management.
